Meet Alix

I’m Alix Lowe, the Chronic Health Coach. My mission is to support those with chronic health conditions to reclaim their power.

I understand how exhausting fighting for what you need can be.

After almost 17 years of chronic pain and fatigue, I was diagnosed at 32 with Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. It took half my life to get the doctors to take me seriously and look at my symptoms holistically. I thought getting a diagnosis would mean recieving the care I needed, but, as I’m sure you know, our struggling health system cannot provide the care chronically ill people need to make positive changes.

After my diagnosis, my chronic fatigue continued to worsen, and I had to leave my demanding career in the civil service. The stress was too much for my body.

I became an Academic Coach at a Sixth Form and discovered my love for coaching. I knew that I wanted to spend my life supporting people on their journey of growth and self discovery.

Despite this career change, my pain and fatigue grew.

I decided to take my life into my own hands.

Using the skills I developed during my Masters of Research, I consumed articles, books, self-help guides, and even social media to learn as much as I could from a wide variety of sources. By creating a pacing plan, and identifying the right resources to support me, I was able to take control of my life and grow stronger. Excited about what I had learnt, I wanted to share it with others.

You shouldn’t need a Research Masters Degree to be able to live a life you love.

I became a Certified Coach to help others grow into the people they want to become. I want to provide the benefit of my research and experience, in a way that is easy to understand and tailored to YOU.

You can grow stronger.

Qualifications

Accredited Life Coach – Diploma – The Coaching Academy
Alongside my 3 years of Academic Coaching, I graduated with Distinction from The Coaching Academy’s Diploma in Life Coaching. It was during my studies and practice coaching sessions that I realised I wanted to use the skills I had learnt to help people with chronic health conditions.

MRes – Ancient Near Eastern History and Languages – University of Birmingham
While I loved researching and investigating the past, I missed working with people. Now I can use my academic skills to research coaching best practice and learn more about how people with chronic health conditions can grow happier and healthier.
